Sure, there are LH options, but they aren't the majority or necessarily easy to get. I have a LH hinged fridge; I remember sitting with sales guys at three different stores (good guys, HN & e&s) checking what the order time was for the LH option. For all of the models in my desired size and (generous) price range. RH hinge - no problem, any model, delivery that week. LH, excluding floor models, -every single one- was special order, lead time 2+ weeks to 6months-aka-we-have-no-idea. It probably varies at time of year as warehouse stock is refreshed and so on, but yeah. It is something I will not forget. That said, it was a minor point about the original question, just one I happened to notice. It bothers some people (me included) and having to get anything out of the ordinary can be a nuisance. If you a) wouldn't be bothered or b) don't believe it to be a hassle, dismiss the point as irrelevant to you. Land settled May '14.
