White Kitchens - help please!

Hi all,

Has anyone got some photos and information about their white laminex kitchens cupboards? I am so stuck with which shade & finish of white to go with and would love to hear some feedback.

I do like a clean white kitchen, however am worried that the Polar White Laminex might be too stark, once it's all over the place? Has anyone got some photos and/or feedback?

Just add colour elsewhere if you think its too stark.

We have white Valencia bench tops in the kitchen and white cupboards with a dark grey tiled splash back.
There should be pics in my thread if you want to have a look, sorry I am on iPad and not sure how to put up the pics.

I'm keen for an all white kitchen too - i think! But same as you, I don't want it too clinical looking. What are you having for your bench top?
I was thinking to go with a white stone with a strong speckle through it to break up the white

We went with polar white silk finish with new crystal salt essa stone bench top. Excuse the mess it's from just after we moved in

we love it, we were worried about the starkness but looks great against the wood look flooring.

One day well replace the splash back to glass with a hint of colour. In hindsight I would consider changing the bench top to new basmati

Seen some in polar white in a display home I love but the laminate cupboards look a bit cheap on close inspection. You can see a really defined edge on them with the ABS edging. Does anyone know if the effect can be reduced with rounded edges perhaps? Guess I need to trawl more laminex displays...

No sorry the 1mm ABS is the only finish. You will always see it. If you put a larger round on it you expose the brittle melamine edge to easy damage.

Just a quick note they are not laminate doors. They are a prefinished melamine door.

I wanted an all white kitchen but then I got worried it would look too sterile so I did a half and half. I know our white was polar white but can't remember what the other colour was, moose something I think.

Our cabinets are just going in now (no doors yet though!) and I agonised for AGES over which white to choose. I ended up going with Dulux Vivid White although would have been happy with Polar White too in the end. We asked a Dulux colour consultant to help us with the choice as we are going to paint all our interiors; we wanted white walls throughout, and she suggested making the cabinets a slightly "whiter" white than the walls so that they would pop. We're going with Natural White on walls, White On White for ceilings, and Vivid White matte 2-pack kitchen. Shaker style with brushed nickel handles and SS appliances.

Depends a lot on the light in your kitchen as well. I am really glad we chose Vivid White (or Polar White) rather than Classic White as I've found that in our space the light is quite soft and I think it would have made a slightly creamy white look a bit blah.
