Once again I hope I didn't upset anyone as I learned so much from this forum but I'm just curious to see if anyone has done it in Australia and if they have any problems.

No trouble at all!
I just don't want people reading this thread and then heading to there local kitchen company or cabinet maker wanting something that is almost never done and to expensive to be of any worth.
I've seen compact popping up more and more in domestic applications in Australia, generally more so in outdoor kitchens though where it makes sense for durability.
Overseas is it a lot more common in domestic applications too. I think it could become more popular in Australia if demand picks up and the price becomes more affordable. Assuming I could get a price that I was happy with, I wouldn't hesitate to use it in my kitchen as a bench top because I think the slim thickness and black side detail look awesome and it is super durable. Stone is nice but a coloured laminate is a bit more quirky if you are going for that particular look. As long as people are aware that it might be hard to find a manufacturer and to be prepared for expensive quotes, I don't think it hurts to discuss what is possible.
