Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 May 22, 2008 7:55 pm Dear all,
We are considering adding a bulkhead (slightly lower ceiling) over the benchtop at the front of the picture below. It would follow the shape of the benchtop & contain the downlights (where the four cables drape down). What do you think folks ? - all opinions welcome ! Does anyone have any bulkhead over countertop images that I could see as well pleae ? Why not get 3 really nice drop down lights instead! They are all the rage at the moment, and look pretty good I think. Is that your house ? - We LOVE the flooring. Can I please ask what it is & where you got it ? Is it floating..? We are loving living in our new home ! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.p ... &start=315 Re: Bulkhead over benchtop ? 10May 22, 2008 9:06 pm VERY nice floors are they high gloss do you think?
I would avoid the bulkhead unless you are doing the entire ceiling like the other pics. Re: Bulkhead over benchtop ? 12May 22, 2008 9:15 pm Rikster Hi kiwi056, Is that your house ? - We LOVE the flooring. Yes it is our place and thanks for the compliments, likewise to the other members. Rikster Hi kiwi056, Can I please ask what it is & where you got it ? The builder supplied and installed it. The timber is Tasmanian Oak. Rikster Hi kiwi056, Is it floating..? No it's 19mm tongue & groove. Re: Bulkhead over benchtop ? 13May 22, 2008 9:17 pm kiwi056…you must be very proud.
And that floor is one of the best I have seen, very nice! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Bulkhead over benchtop ? 15May 23, 2008 4:24 am Hi kiwi056,
Absolutely love your floor. I will be having another look at Tas Oak. Do you know the product or the supplier? I love pics, have you any others Thanks, Bee Re: Bulkhead over benchtop ? 18May 23, 2008 7:36 am Bernadette Hi kiwi056, Absolutely love your floor. I will be having another look at Tas Oak. Do you know the product or the supplier? I love pics, have you any others Thanks, Bee Thanks! Tasmanian Oak is one of the softer of the hardwoods so is more susceptible to damage; in saying this so far we’ve had a good run out of the flooring. I personally like the honey tinge that we get from the floor. Yes I do have more photos but I think I’ve taken Rikster’s thread too far off topic so I’ll leave them for another thread. Hi Courtney The mitred edges are glued up with epoxy so those little holes and gaps are areas that weren't filled correctly. Silicone is the wrong product to fill them… 2 12928 Hi everyone, Looking for some advise. We are about to build an above ground pool in our backyard. There is a private sewer line running under the pool at 1.6m… 0 11763 Much a do about nothing. You can see the fall heading to the actual drains.
