Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Mar 23, 2014 7:06 pm Just wondering if anyone has installed a glass sink, and whether they would recommend them? Im concerned about heat resistance, ie, can you sit a hot pot straight of the stove on there? And resistance to impact, ie chipping and cracking.I assume they would be made out of tempered glass similar to glass cooktops, but I am interested to hear others experiences, Thanks Re: Glass sinks 2Mar 26, 2014 11:21 am Glass sinks would be suitable for bathrooms but i wouldn't use them in the Kitchen. Glass even when it is toughened can be scratched and would be prone to damage. If it is just a glass surround on top of the sink area with a stainless bowl than this would be okay, but a full glass sink for the kitchen area i would stay away from. Glass sink could also break your glasses, cups or plates if you hit the sides of the sink area above water level, nothing worst than a chipped plate or missing handle of a cup.
