Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: Handleless kitchen drawers and cupboards 2Mar 20, 2014 7:07 pm Hi there, I had both in my kitchen. The push close I did find annoying - there are two different types ofpush closes, magnets and plastic. I had magnets on my kitchen and the plastic ones on the floating cupboards. The plastic ones all broke, they are dreadful. I had the lip cupboards under my sink and they were great. I am going this way in my new build. In my laundry I had the overhead cupboards with no handles by having the cupboards hang over the base shelf, if that makes sense? Re: Handleless kitchen drawers and cupboards 3Mar 21, 2014 8:38 am There are push catch drawers that soft close. i know artia do one. there is also blum servo drive. Re: Handleless kitchen drawers and cupboards 4Mar 22, 2014 9:44 am I was going to have no handles until a friend of mine did hers with no handles. She cooks with curry a lot and said she was paranoid about touching the cupboards in case they stained. If she had to open a cupboard she had to get a cloth or make sure she wiped it straight away. The kitchen lady also said you do end up getting marks on them, Re: Handleless kitchen drawers and cupboards 5Mar 22, 2014 10:10 am I think also if you have the finger pulls at 45 degrees at the top of the drawers you would lose 2 to 3 cm per drawer as you need space for your fingers to go in. I thought the aluminium finger rails are expensive as they are labour intensive to install. I was not wedded to any handle/ no handle arrangement but liked the idea of no handles. I asked the cabinet maker what most go into the high end builds that get done. He said nice stainless handles on the drawers/ cupboards and overheads can have a 1cm lip to open. I was stressed about it until the decision was made. Now need to find the handles.... Re: Handleless kitchen drawers and cupboards 6Mar 22, 2014 10:20 am When you find the handles let me know, that sounds like what I want to do! Re: Handleless kitchen drawers and cupboards 7Mar 22, 2014 11:45 am Thanks all. I am waiting for the cabinet maker to send me a photo of what the push catch drawers look like. Apparently that is the best way to go for the most stream lined look Re: Handleless kitchen drawers and cupboards 8Mar 22, 2014 4:50 pm my kitchen is handleless, we have the sharknose profile. We love it, makes giving all the cupboards and drawers super easy to clean. And with 2 boys under 5 no problems whatsoever. Re: Handleless kitchen drawers and cupboards 9Mar 24, 2014 12:43 pm These handles are a nice inconspicuous dingle pull. http://m.flickr.com/lightbox?id=13370966774 http://m.flickr.com/photos/graffitimalibu/13370946984/ Hafale Hudson range handles - 100mm long Re: Handleless kitchen drawers and cupboards 10Mar 25, 2014 8:07 am Pellana my kitchen is handleless, we have the sharknose profile. We love it, makes giving all the cupboards and drawers super easy to clean. And with 2 boys under 5 no problems whatsoever. They are not for every body though. There is a massive drawback with them. The internal height of every drawer is 50mm less than a normal drawer!!! In a small to medium kitchen this can be a deal breaker as you cant double stack many pots! Large boiling pots don't fit at all! Every time you lean while cooking, washing or trying to wipe them down they open. Push catches work fine on the wall cabinets but having the mitre or angle on top of the doors and draws looks fine and easy to use and wont get annoying because they don't constantly pop open. Like pulse said, you can fit drawers however because of the placement of the sink there isn't much depth so you would have to have cut outs for the waste pipes.
