Below is: Benchtop: essastone french black, the lower cabinets: Polytec marni lini Overheads: Laminex Pearl Grey The floors will be polished concrete we are concerned its too beige but dont know what the change the overheads and pantry too. Late last night I came to the conclusion it was just too beige toned and am now leaning to polytec classic white ash grain for the overheads and pantry (grain horizontal) and laminex charcoal for the base cabinetry keeping the French black essastone. I think this a better and more neutral option. The wall colour will more than likely be a white or at most a very pale grey. Love your new idea of selections as the strong contrast and black/grey/white is a more modern and high end colour scheme in my VERY uneducated opinion. So easy to match the rest of the house to once you actually get to move in too Love the massive kitchen Re: Need help with Kitchen Colours!! 5Mar 05, 2014 2:04 am Haha Kat, thanks, I think anyone who has built should think of themselves as having a very educated opinion lol. All these delays have kept changing my mind all the time. Started with all white and went to the beige and brown because my partner said no to white but I've managed to sneak it back in a little bit I can not wait to get into this big kitchen, especially as we moved to a small rental recently and the kitchen is only about 4sqm big.... Metal/glass/wood?? Dark/light couch? I wish we thought of all of this when selecting our colours at the beginning. Has turned out ok but a plan of colours would of been handy! So jealous of your smokey mirror splash back! Going to look amazing!!!!! Re: Need help with Kitchen Colours!! 7Mar 05, 2014 2:41 am Thanks, at the moment we are kind of leaning towards an industrial look. Although we have a black couch and white rug so that'll work for the time beginning until I'm allowed to buy new stuff (I have been banned from shopping haha). Industrial is kind of obvious though with the polished concrete so will be easy to achieve just with little things I think. So I guess metal and possibly wood would be our furnishings. Emailed our prestart consultant tonight locking it all in!!! Hopefully we can go to scheduling beginning of next week think they'll have final to docs to us by tomorrow or Friday at the latest... Still hoping to be in at Xmas putting every ounce of hope and faith into the builder that they'll deliver. Not what I was expecting. ..ok so my pick now would be to pick the colours that match your dining/living colour scheme Re: Need help with Kitchen Colours!! 9Mar 05, 2014 2:45 am I think that would be the black/grey and white - always the easiest colours haha can't get more neutral then that. Ours would look similar to that in full sunlight just with a grey bench but under normal house lights was looking wayyy to yellow my taste. Fingers grey and white is the right choice no changing now haha H1 Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=61557 Re: Need help with Kitchen Colours!! 10Mar 05, 2014 2:46 am Oooohh I love industrial! Friend of mine from work has almost finished his custom build with the industrial theme in mind. They went for a gloss white and black/brown wood grain in their kitchen which looks fabulous! Looking forward to when you finally get to the construction phase, been a long road!
