In our previous house we had a Chef underbench oven which we were very happy with....it was their top of the line model at the time (eight years ago) and had a separate grill and oven...this is the current stainless steel version...

We often uses the griller and oven together and find the separation of the two useful.
We are looking at replacing the current wall oven in the house we just moved to an underbench and I've looked at other brands including some of the high ends and they all seem to have "built in grillers".

What is the rationale behind this? Is it simply to make slimmer looking ovens. Is there any cooking advantage?
I can only see a problem with this in that we can't operate the griller and oven together.....am I missing something?
Why don't other manufacturer's build these sorts of ovens?
The separate griller style would fit between our laminate kicker and the underside of the bench.
