Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jan 17, 2014 7:25 pm I would love to hear from people using induction cooktops and ovens, particularly ovens as I can't find out much about them. Do you find induction lives up to the sales claims? Our current build is our retirement home and induction sounds safe - I am already prone to leave the gas on. Re: induction cooktops and ovens. 2Jan 19, 2014 2:40 pm Induction is the way to go. It cooks fast, nothing sticks and the cooktop is easy to clean. I use induction for years. Ideally it would be connected to 3 phase power. The only thing I don't like are the sensor buttons as they are not always responsive if your fingers a wet or oily. If money is no issue and you have the choice I would go for a twist pad control as NEFF has for its induction cooktops. I do have only a 3-zone cooktop from Miele which is enough for us. I won't be able to cook on 4 zones at once anyway. It is also important to have as many sizes as possible. Remember your old pots and frying pans might not work. If you go for induction, buy good quality pots and pans and not those with an aluminium base who claim to work on induction. They work poorly. I just made the mistake recently and bought a Baccarat griddle pan (top of the range) which is useless. I have to turn the power on full to get some heat into the pan. I will give the pan away. Some induction make a bit of noise on the lower power setting. If you have a chance try it out before. What oven are you interested in? I don't understand your question regarding it. cheers Evelin Re: induction cooktops and ovens. 3Jan 19, 2014 7:04 pm if you are in perth go to kitchen headquarters they will show you how it works Re: induction cooktops and ovens. 4Jan 21, 2014 9:02 am Thanks cups.
