Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 May 09, 2008 6:21 am Hi there,
Would love to have a modern looking white kitchen (probably flat pack from Bunnings and get a handyman to install it for us). But just wondering if the white is difficult to keep looking good? I would imagine there would eventully get lots of dirty hand marks and spills down the doors? sarahlou Re: White kitchen cupboard doors - difficult to keep clean? 2May 09, 2008 6:39 am As with anything light coloured, you will see marks, especially if you have little ones cubby hands near them!!
If you were asking about the quality and if they clean as eaisly as other materials, sorry cant help. Good luck Paula Re: White kitchen cupboard doors - difficult to keep clean? 3May 09, 2008 9:05 am Our previous kitchen was white glossy 2-pak.
Grubby marks etc were common but very easy to see and clean. Perhaps once a week I'd do a quick wipe over with a damp cloth and a spray made from diluted cloudy ammonia. The problem was the gloss - keeping it shiny was tough! When we were selling our place - I polished it every day for inspections After 4 years - we're in! Any surface will show drips and runs if the light is right - I see this as a reminder that the cupboard doors need to be wiped...but then I'm not a fan of hiding dirt... As stonecutter said, it will be harder to keep the shine - this will also depend on the quality of vinyl or two pack you end up choosing. It is for this reason that I often suggest to clients with children that they consider a matt paint or even better a matt colourboard finish in preference to high gloss - more durable and functional for the operating conditions.
