Re: Dishwasher Suggestions. 22Oct 14, 2013 6:29 pm Hi, Wow, what an avalanche of info. I'd also recommend getting a dishwasher which can take a hot water connection IF you have off peak or other cheap hot water. This means the machine won't have to heat its own water so much, for which you would pay top rate via the powerpoint. Cheers Re: Dishwasher Suggestions. 24Oct 22, 2013 4:05 pm GeoffW1 Hi, Wow, what an avalanche of info. My sink isn't far from the HWS but still takes about 3-4L before hot water comes out. My Asko uses say 14L for a normal wash, within each wash uses 4 cycles- Pre-rinse, Wash, Rinse and Rinse again. Plumb it to my energy efficient instant hot water service @ 50 deg C which I agree is much more efficient than the internal heating element may sound like a good idea. BUT, say each cycle uses 3.5L of water in say 20 min increments, the 'hot' water is barely lukewarm at the dishwasher after 3.5L. Sure the water may be hot & more efficient after 3.5L, by then the dishwasher doesn't need anymore hot water until the next cycle 20min later. So the dishwasher will need to heat up the 'hot' water again. Doesn't sound terribly efficient to me, well unless you have your HWS service very close the dishwasher. Thoughts, anyone? PS, I agree it works out well for washing machines which uses more water, unfortunately my front loader only has 1 water input, so I plumb it to Cold Water. I set my front loader to wash at 20C anyway. Re: Dishwasher Suggestions. 28Oct 29, 2013 8:48 pm Hi MyH1Login , yes I think i did. I got it for 1199. the HN back in our old suburb of Joondalup in Perth offered it to me for $20 more than the original free standing much more basic one I was looking at, seems they had bought a large number of them. Even more outstanding. It's being delivered for $50!!!!!!! A 200+ km trip. Hopefully delivered Thursday. Only one of the sales guys at HN joondalup could get us this delivery as we obviously aren't in their usual delivery area. the deal was only for cash ( or cc) not terms. otherwise it was 1499. Re: Dishwasher Suggestions. 29Oct 29, 2013 8:57 pm BARGAIN!! Well done Was at HN on the weekend but only looked at the SMS40M coz (1) it was on sale and (2) it had a really high rating for both water and energy. Will look at your version and see if luck is also on my side! --- Re: Dishwasher Suggestions. 30Oct 29, 2013 9:10 pm Check out AppliancesOnline.com.au, I just bought a microwave from there for 45% cheaper than I could find the same model at The Good Guys & HN. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk --- Re: Dishwasher Suggestions. 32Oct 29, 2013 9:26 pm the model we got doesn't have the best rating for power only a 3 but is a 5.5 for water. 2 yr warranty we are on septics so water was a concern and the difference between the 3 and 4 power rating is around 10-15 dollars a year we were told. We have solar panels so not as big an issue. of course if you had a smart meter it might work out well also. Prior to this I was looking at ones with 4 power -4.5 water ratings. just make sure the model is manufactured in germany. the ones around the 890 aren't. but then ones from around 999 up tend to be. seems the chinese ones aren't as well regarded and have some plastic parts. the 2 we were looking at were around 997 and 1199 and both were german made but mum and I saw one of the 899 ones in a retravision store and it wasn't. Also got the same advice from the kambo store. I was put on to AppliancesOnline by a work friend who bought (basically a whole unit set up) from there, fridge, washer, TV etc - I just needed a new microwave! Did some browsing in the shops, searched online - saw a great one for $188, searched the model number and the nearest I could find it for was $339. So I bought it. Arrived on time, no issues and as described. Works a treat I guess you won't always save as much as that! but it's definitely a site worth looking at and considering Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Dishwasher Suggestions. 36Oct 29, 2013 10:59 pm Everywhere I've read rates Miele dishwashers as the best of the best. Australian websites, US websites, everywhere! I will be getting a Miele one integrated in the next house. Right now, I have an Asko - and I don't have a single complaint! It dries plastics quite well compared to any other dishwasher I've had (in fact, any other I've had does a poor effort at drying anything). This rental had a Smeg, so I took it out and put in my Akso. I thought the last house had a Bosch, but going on the reviews above I must be wrong. It was brand new and awful, I took that out and put my Asko in too. I guess I've had the Akso about 3 years now, had no issues with it. Re: Dishwasher Suggestions. 37Oct 30, 2013 6:38 am asko bosch and then miele are supposedly the top 3. miele being the most exxy. But I've been told bosch have a couple of base models not considered very good. I've found out that a number of friends have the better bosch models and are very happy also one friend who is very keen on miele. One of the sales guys in one of the stores I went to when researching said as long as you pick one of the better brands as a dishwasher your first dw experience will be good. He actually convinced me to go for the less expensive of 2 models. The cheapest german made one at around 998 in the end however we've gone for a different model again due to the bargain opportunity and the extra features which appealed to DH Re: Dishwasher Suggestions. 38Nov 29, 2013 11:11 pm Hello friends hope all is well!
