Hi all,
I threw this query in on the end of my other post, but think it might have more success/response asked in it’s own thread!
Basically, looking at replacing current benchtops with laminex, squareform benchtops and considering doing a waterfall. We quite like the look of the waterfall, but two things concern us about doing one in our situation:
1 – laminate waterfall? Most photo’s and examples I’ve seen have been in stone benchtops. Is there a good reason they’re not as common in laminex, or is it simply a case of the popularity of stone, and those going laminex are generally looking to save $, and therefore don’t spend the extra to get a waterfall?
2 – waterfall, but not on an island bench? Our kitchen is U shaped, and again, looking at most examples where waterfalls are used, they’re dominated by big free-standing island benches. Do they look silly on the end of a U shaped bench, or again, is it more a case of the popularity of island benches?
Like I said, we like the look, but a bit nervous about doing one when there are not many examples that match our situation – don’t want the finish to look dodge! Any thoughts, advice or experiences to share would be appreciated!
Cheers,
Damien
