Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: Starfire Splashback Upgrade 22Jun 13, 2008 9:35 pm I really adore that snakeskin colour - it is exactly what I'm looking for. I can't find a dulux colour to match it....I'm sure I was told that Dulux can colour match most colours from other brands...I wonder if PD will let me do something similar... My karma ran over your dogma Re: Starfire Splashback Upgrade 23Jun 23, 2008 8:53 pm farout!
having read all the splashback threads still got a question the sample we like (gold platinum colour) says on the back its clear not starfire, there is no sample of it with starfire is it worth requesting starfire? and how would the colour change? why are some clear and some starfire *arghhhhhhhh* Re: Starfire Splashback Upgrade 24Jun 24, 2008 8:11 am bec, "clear" glass has the green tinge so more than likely your chosen colour will look different. Starfire is totally clear so the colour comes out the same. It cost us $440 to upgrade to starfire for a 2.7m length. Worth it for me as I didn't want to worry what my colour would look like. Happy at Home Re: Starfire Splashback Upgrade 25Jun 24, 2008 8:15 am starphire is used only with light colours. If you are having a dark splashback, use plain glass called "clear float". Much, much cheaper. Yes it is green tinged but you can't see it. The colour we have chosen is Dulux Oyster Linen which to me isn't light. I had originally chosen Dulux Linseed which has the exact same tonings as O.L and the difference of actual colour between clear and starfire was HUGE!

Re: Starfire Splashback Upgrade 28Jun 24, 2008 11:08 am bec oh really? *eep*... how did the colour change/ vary? The difference was huge! I really liked the Linseed and fortunately it was on display at PD's showroom, there was a huge difference in colour. There was no way I could pick a colour and have it on clear and then worry for the next 7 months about what the colour would be like so we upgraded to starfire to ensure that the colour we chose was the colour we got! Nothing's bl**dy straighforward! Happy at Home Re: Starfire Splashback Upgrade 29Jun 24, 2008 12:45 pm House-To-Be Hi Southies, how would you determine a "light" colour? I'm no expert but I would think the clear would alter that colour. I would go starfire if it was me. A $400 - $500 upgrade is not that much in that you will get a much truer colour for a long period of time. That's how I justified it!!! Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Jo Hi Jo, yep I totally agree and have gone for the starfire upgrade. Was worth the extra $$ for me not to have to worry about what it was going to look like!
