Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Aug 07, 2013 11:46 am Hi All, We have purchased a flat pack kitchen from one place, but organising the stone bench tops from another. Has anyone created their kitchens template before? and/or installed their substrate?...is it that hard? Any useful sources on the internet you could point me to? Or, can you recommend someone in Melbourne who can do this? (i feel a little awkward getting a kitchen place to do it) and tips appreciated Re: diy template and substrate 2Aug 09, 2013 9:32 am The kitchen substrate or carcass is relatively easy to install. A bit fiddle but if you are ok with a drill you will be fine. I even went to the extent of having the carcass panels cut at a cabinetry place and saved a bit of money and put it all together myself. There are flat pack specialists out there that will charge $2,000+ to do it for you. As for the stone, I would recommend a stone installer. I have details for someone who I have used and I can certainly vet for them. If you want, PM me. Assuming the structure of your cabinetry is good then I would DIY everything as follows: - replace your counter tops entirely, - replace all drawer runners with soft close… 1 4835 Re my second point – yes exactly. And often it may take additional time if the manufacturer recommends no more than X meters… 3 5716 |
