Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 17, 2013 7:19 pm Hi all, I'm new to this forum & looking for some advice about a kitchen renovation. We want to upgrade of our current kitchen, with new high gloss doors, draws & their runners (with the new no handle design if possible), oven, dishwasher, splashback, sink & a caesar stone bench top. I'm pretty sure we can keep the current cabinet carcase. Can anyone give me a rough idea of the budget we will be looking at to do this? Also, any recommendations for kitchen companies on the northern beaches would be welcome. Thanks! Re: Kitchen Reno - Northern Beaches 2Jul 17, 2013 8:00 pm Welcome to the forum! You will need to get a few quotes.....every kitchen supplier will be a different price. When I put my new kitchen in a year ago one guy was $4000 dearer than the company I chose to go with. That's quite a lot of difference! Get recommendations from people you meet or people you know so you can call and get quotes from those companies. Good luck, have fun!! You might also find it hard to get someone to do this type of work but as a rough guide, Doors $4000-5000 Bench top $2500-$4000 depending on stone type and colour (more for waterfalls) Splashback $600 - $3000 depending on if you have tiles or glass Plumbing and electrical $2000 Cutting Edge Kitchens and Cabinet Making http://cuttingedgekitchens.net.au http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cutting-Edge-Kitchens/290484196676 Mobile : 0419 430 575 PH: 9452 4772 Fax :9452 4772 cuttingedgekitchens@outlook.com Re: Kitchen Reno - Northern Beaches 4Jul 18, 2013 5:48 pm Thanks for the replies. Ok, so if we need to replace the carcase, what kind of ball park figure would we be looking at for a standard u-shape approx 4 x 3metres? Would soft closing doors/draws work if we keep the carcase? Re: Kitchen Reno - Northern Beaches 5Jul 19, 2013 8:16 am If you want to start replacing drawers and using softclose fittings you might aswell just replace the carcuss. They are actually the cheapest part of a kitchen. Its the doors and bench tops that determine how expensive a kitchen is. Allow around an extra $4000 for the cabinets. I don't think you will find many people interested in replacing all the drawers while using the existing carcasses. When I build a kitchen it usually takes us 6-7 hours to fit. It would actually take a lot longer to retro fit doors and drawers to an existing kitchen. If your handy or know someone that is you can make some good savings doing a part reno. When you have to pay trades to do everything it can really add up. A normal kitchen of ours cost $9000-$12000 for cabinets, doors and kickboards installed depending on they type of door and the number of drawers.
