Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jun 12, 2013 2:32 pm Hi Everyone I am building a new house and am in the process of doing my cabinetry design. I am looking at using Arctic Ice Ultraglaze or maybe Createc Ultra White Gloss for the cabinetry and then either White Shimmer CS or Reflections QQ for the bench tops. Confused though because the benchtops look yellowy against the crisp whiteness?? Does anyone elses do this? On the front of the island bench I am considering a Glass Splashback in Bauxite (metalic charcoal grey) and then either using the same as the splashback behind hotplates, in scullery and also in the laundry as you can see all areas together. OR, alternatively using a lighter contrasting glass splashback for the 3 benchtop areas. I am wanting seamless looks and have drawn up drawers/dishwasher/cupboards under the island bench which is 3m long x 1.2m wide (single undermount sink here at the end near ovens) and then rectangle overheads - 2 rows of 4 and then matching 4 sets of 3 drawers at the back where the cook top is. Am thinking of using Blum Tip on or else standard handless options. On the wall leading to the scullery will be (from dining end first) a 1m wide cupboard to put chargers, laptop, etc etc with drawers below and overheads above, then 2 ovens side by side (overheads and drawers above/below), then fridge then after the fridge we are in the scullery so will have cupbboards below bench and open shelving above bench. This wraps around to where there is a double sink and then WIP. My question is.... Colours - what do you think - and also, layout - user friendly?? Would love to hear your suggestions and I look forward to being able to contribute to your conversations!! http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/6341/kitchenzn.jpg Hopefully this link works!! Re: Kitchen decisions begin 2Jun 12, 2013 5:54 pm Wow! Amazing! For my galley kitchen I'm going vinyl wrap gloss polar white to oven bench, overhead a mix of dark grey Perspex and laminex sublime teak open shelves, island cabinetry also sublime teak, bench tops CS urban and unsure of splashback. But I'm going for a scandanavian like feel Building the Porter Davis Dunedin 29 maybe, thinking of forfeiting deposit and going with CH or UE Ardo That is so funny! I wonder how many people know who Larry Haun is these days. I have a couple of young guys we call Mo 1 & Mo 2 who run a crew of 6 boys and… 9 15433 The gap can be adjusted so it's tighter. You can definitely set up corner cabinets to have the same gap as standard doors. 2 13531 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6623 |
