Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 May 01, 2013 9:51 am Hi all, I'm thinking about the design for our new kitchen and am curious to know where you keep your plastics? Currently ours are all in a big cupboard which is terrible, can't find anything and you have to pull everything out. Do you have a pot drawer for them? Re: Where do you keep your tupperware/plasticware? 2May 01, 2013 10:14 am drawers with dividers? eg IKEA http://www.ikea.com/aa/en/catalog/products/60177265/ Re: Where do you keep your tupperware/plasticware? 3May 01, 2013 10:49 am I have found Tupperware in pot drawers more convenient than in a cupboard. It didn't improve the organisation but it contained everything when rummaging. However in our new place the pot drawers are no good for it, as they don't have solid sides or backs so plastics are back in the cupboard ![]() I don't think I explained that well ![]() Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our old ones, which were much better for plastics, were like this where all four "walls" of the drawer are solid and the whole height of the drawer. Much better for just chucking stuff in and rummaging around later. Easy to access and no getting down on your hands and knees to pull out everything just to get the one item that is at the back corner of the cupboard. Mime used to be in the walk in pantry and always looked messy but since I have reno'ed the kitchen and put them in pot drawers they are all neatly contained in the drawers. I have heaps & heaps of tupperware. Yes, I am a little obsessed. The modular mate containers are mostly in my walk in pantry Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ then the rest is pretty spread throughout cupboards and drawers. The bigger bowls and platters and cake holders, spare fridgesmarts are in a cupboard which works because it is big enough to store lids on the containers (it is a nightmare if bottoms are separate to tops) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ that picture was taken just after we moved before I had unpacked everything - it is fuller now but still easy to see everything. It works because it is above bench height so you don't have to bend down to find everything. This is how it looked before stocking it - the cupboard on the left is my tupperware one. Some random tupperware, such as mixing bowls, beetroot containers, ice trays, spare water containers are in a drawer then I have other pieces scattered around in other drawers and cupboards, cups, plates & bowls, large platters, wine glasses, chopping mats, scales, etc & the fridge containers are obviously in fridge. YES - I told you I have alot of tupperware!!!! ![]() Re: Where do you keep your tupperware/plasticware? 7May 01, 2013 8:54 pm *sighs* RS- I have MISSED you and your Tupperware! ![]() Deemaree Kyndylan Capers: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=46852 My blog: http://www.sufficientlysufficient.blogspot.com/ Re: Where do you keep your tupperware/plasticware? 8May 01, 2013 9:02 pm All my modular mates are neatly in the WIP, but the rest (and unused MM's) are in two pot drawers. Works well for me! I'm envious of how closely they match the depth of your modular mate containers, and wonder which came first? My empty plastics are currently in a deep pot drawer, way easier to find that way, with the unruly lids mostly contained in a plastic bin that is also kept in the drawer. Periodic checks to make sure all containers still have lids remain necessary, though!
