Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Mar 20, 2013 12:24 pm Hey guys!! I have been looking at traditional kitchen taps to add some character to my future kitchen, and found some I really liked but they are around $1,000! Albeit they are gorgeous and come with a separate sprayer: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So I have a few questions....I would really appreciate any help! 1: how easy is it to install a tap and sprayer after handover, through ceasarstone? Is that even possible? 2: are sprayers that great? Do you prefer them in the kitchen, laundry, or both? do they make a big difference with washing up? I would prefer to have one, but I can find a beautiful mixer tap faucet for a lot less without a sprayer. Like this one, for 149, from ikea: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 3. Can a tap like the one above have a sprayer added to it? 4: can you purchase taps from overseas in the interest of saving money for use here in Oz or would they not work? HD Re: Kitchen taps?? 2Mar 20, 2013 8:32 pm Hey littlewing, I had the same dilemma as you with respect to the price, and I found an awesome site called fesal.com where you can grey import kitchen stuff. So I finally ordered my KWC Eve mixer from there this evening, and wouldn't you know, I stuffed it up, and order the identical, but smaller version. Anyway, I contacted the sales people, and the guy was very helpful, even talking to me on the phone at 8pm! Pretty stoked that I save like over $1000 on my kitchen mixer. Also, with respect to the caesarstone, you need to have accurate holes drilled for the mixer tap, and while we are supplying our own tap to our builder, we are getting them to install it, as drilling in caesarstone is not something I would attempt myself! Dave thank you so much for your advice! I'm so glad you got everything sorted I am going to check that site out and hopefully find an awesome tap! I'm also looking for one of these telephon bath taps and was quoted near 2,000 for it so I'll be looking for one of them too lol Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'm assuming that no matter where you buy them from, taps should fit the plumbing here in Oz correct? HD Re: Kitchen taps?? 4Mar 20, 2013 10:59 pm I'm not a plumber, but I asked a few people and it seems ok. The fesal site is run by an ex-pat living overseas and I called his melbourne number to talk to him this evening, and others have said everything should be fine. Always best to get the specs and check with your builder before ordering! This one looks like what you are after: http://www.fesal.com/au/graff-floor-mou ... 72000.html and this is similar: http://www.fesal.com/au/bossini-l00130- ... mixer.html or this: http://www.fesal.com/au/ib-rubinetterie ... iller.html Good luck! Re: Kitchen taps?? 5Mar 21, 2013 7:43 am some mixer tap hose fittings imported from europe/uk need adaptors, that can be sourced from Masters. Re: Kitchen taps?? 6Mar 22, 2013 9:00 pm Wow thank you both so much for your help! I was really lucky as castirontubs.com is running a huge sale until the 28th of march and have been able to score a tub tap set for $500 (50% off ). Their cast iron tubs are on sale too some really great prices! I did find some kitchen taps that look nice so will keep browsing fesal.com as I'm not satisfied with the tap options at the builder. What a great site and good source!! Also good to know about the settings. I know nothing about this stuff lol. Thank you both again HD Bathroom renovation will likely include a back-to-corner bath and we’re considering a freestanding tap with hand-held shower such as the picture included. My hesitation… 0 24697 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6636 2 4687 |
