Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Mar 08, 2013 11:18 am Hi all We are in the process of choosing our benchtops and kitchen layout for our new Porter Davis home. We have a rather large kitchen (long bench against a wall + island bench) and a WIP. Even 20mm with a 40mm edge may be pushing it for all of these areas! So I was thinking of doing 20mm Caesarstone in the pantry and on the kitchen bench against the wall... And having 20mm Caesarstone with 40mm edging on the island. Has anyone built a kitchen with 20mm stone on the wall bench and 40mm stone on the island bench or even had varying thicknesses of caesarstone in the kitchen? Do you like it/not like it? Does anyone have any pics or any other ideas? Thanks Re: Different size stone benchtops in the Kitchen 2Mar 08, 2013 12:40 pm There is no such thing as solid 40mm. It is always 20+20mm doubled up. 99% of the time its only the front edge that is 40mm. Yes I have seen 20mm and 40 used together. I personally dont like it but its up to you. FYI my stone mason charges around $600 more to go from 20mm up to 40mm on a standard size kitchen.
