Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Feb 10, 2013 12:33 pm Hi, I am looking at purchasing kitchen sink with two bowls, but there are so many different sizes out there that I am not sure what is a good size. I have been told the bigger bowl the better but it unfortunately it seems to mean that bigger = more expensive. What is the minimum bowl size that everyone recommends? Thanks Re: Kitchen sink bowl size? 2Feb 10, 2013 6:46 pm tweety Hi, I am looking at purchasing kitchen sink with two bowls, but there are so many different sizes out there that I am not sure what is a good size. If you want to put baking trays in to wash make sure they will fit. Otherwise make sure your laundry sink/trough is large enough fit them. I made sure my roasting pan could fit as i didnt want to have to clean this in the laundry. When i clean the fridge trays i use the laundry trough though. 2 Re: Kitchen sink bowl size? 7Feb 11, 2013 4:03 pm kexkez So you rinse baking trays in a 1/2 sink Mike? Rinse what ... Re: Kitchen sink bowl size? 8Feb 11, 2013 4:05 pm No - seriously ... we have the ones that rinse off pretty easily. I do the roasts and always use a bag. I know what you mean though. A double is a good idea. Re: Kitchen sink bowl size? 9Feb 11, 2013 4:30 pm What material are you using for your bench tops. If its stone I would go for two large bowls and no drainer. Having a second bowl is so handy! With stone you dont have a need for a drainer either. At my house if its just a couple of things we are washing up we let them drip dry in the second bowl on a small in sink drainer. If its a large wash then we have a drying rack with drip tray that lives in the sink cabinet. It sits on the bench and then gets put away. The one that I have found, that is within budget, is 405x355x205mm deep, my concern is that the 355mm width is not enough? http://www.oliverisinks.com/downloads/s ... SN1064.pdf There is another one that I have seen that isnt exactly the look that I was after (still a topmount but a bit more of a lip) and it is 400x380x200mm, http://www.abey.com.au/wp-content/uploa ... LG2001.pdf Will the extra 300mm per bowl make a big difference, should i sacrifice "the look" for the more practical option? Unfortunately I cant take my large baking dish into try as it is currently in storage thanks again Tweety Bigger the better for storage for me IMO. But I guess it's harder to tell the cost/benefit in your example - mainly the 'cost'?
