We a upgrading our kitchen, and i was wondering if anybody has used the White Knight Laminate Paints. What did you think of the end result? Has it worn well, or is it easily scratched?? Any help appreciated. Thanks and cheers, Tania Re: White Knight Laminate Paints 3Apr 15, 2008 1:35 pm For a short term update we used white knight laminate paint to update our ensuite vanity benchtop and cupboards.
We got the White-Knight paint in dulux ecru for the vanity top and sarah's place for the cupboards. We followed the intructions (you have to use their cleaner and undercoat), but for the final coat we applied the white knight with a sea sponge which made a great texture. Changed the door handles to more modern chrome ones and it came up a treat. If I did it again, I'd probably remove the cupboard doors and draws first and use a roller for them for a smooth fininsh, but we like the texture on the benchtop. Still looks good after almost 2 years, no chips or discoloration. Saw an article in a mag recently where they had painted a kitchen benchtop with white knight cream color, then 'speckled' some darker color with a fine brush and then did 2 coats of a polyurethane ( I think) type varnish. Looked just like a stone benchtop. You can also get a tile paint, which works in a similar way, and a grout pen to get a neat grout line. Hope this helps eimaj The yellowing mainly occurs to white or very light colours. 1 2942 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair At a bit of a loss on this one - we're thinking the original owners never removed the protective laminate covers from their kitchen cabinets after installation and in the… 0 6330 We are doing heaps of hybrid at the moment and the cost sits between $60-65/sqm including installation.
