Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jan 06, 2013 1:41 pm Ok so im getting my kitchen renovated and im after any advice about materials/quotes you've recieved, problems you have come accross in installation, other things to think about (to ask the dude doing the renos) when i finally chose one that is. Im having a bit of a dilemma about cabinet materials at the moment. All the guys suggested vinyl wrap because i like the look of the (whatever you call it where its sortof carved out looking) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ like that. But ive been looking online and everyone seems to think they will peel and bubble around the oven, and why bother spending thousands of dollars on a kitchen thats just going to look as bad as my current one in another 6 years? Are they really that bad? Is there anything you can do to prevent the heat from the oven affecting them like that? Also has anyone had a quote for vinyl wrap and a contrasting one for the same thing in solid timber? (if so what was the price difference) as that also may be an option. Im going with caesarstone for the benchtops, as the price difference is only 1.2k for something that i love and will last and not be a pain to maintain. Im liking new antique white (or a pale coloured timber) for the cupboards with a contrasting dark top) Now on to the range. Does anyone know if a canopy rangehood can be installed in any house? I like the look of them and im considering not having overhead cupboards in my kitchen so i want to know about the range before i decide if im going to have overheads or not (otherwise id just get a slide out) Theres so much to think about, that post wasnt very structured, but its all swimming around in my head driving me crazy, so if any of you can answer me any of those questions i would be very appreciative. Thanks, Al I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
