Re: Show me your rubbish! 7Dec 18, 2012 8:48 am 1rocky are the slide out bins expensive to install have a look at Masters. IKEA got them too. http://www.masters.com.au/product/90001 ... -x-35l-bin, $354 The cheapest option is a standard pullout drawer and place a rectagular bin in it, example Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Show me your rubbish! 8Dec 18, 2012 10:26 am We got our builder to include a bin drawer with double bins inside was around $400 mark Re: Show me your rubbish! 9Dec 18, 2012 11:20 am I modified my cabinet with a Blum soft closing drawer and four bins from Ikea, I put a full-depth shelf on top to seal the bins when the drawer is closed. I also put a pull out basket on top for recycling paper and cardboard, I use the drawer divider/insert to secure the bins so they won't move around in the drawer. Considering im not very handy, i can put ikea stuff together though.. It depends on the size of your sink cupboard and whether it's a single door or double door cupboard. Also plumbing might be an issue if it's in the way. If plumbing is an issue you can try the Spazio plumbing kit to make room for a drawer (not from Ikea, but many brands have them: Franke, Blanco, Abey, etc). Was it hard? Considering im not very handy, i can put ikea stuff together though.. hahaha, If somebody doesn't want to spent a lot of money on Blanco, Franke, Häfele and soforth, IKEA is a very good option and easy to install. The advantage with IKEA is, the bins are standing on a platform and you could stand any bin if you wanted. The dearer options, where the bins hang in a frame, you have to stick to the brand. In the home countries of Blanco and Franke, some favour Blanco, others Franke. Ideally, it is best when both systems are displayed in a showroom to see which one suits you more. Re: Show me your rubbish! 14Dec 19, 2012 5:20 am thanks for the adivce everyone ikea is abit to far away for me (500kms) so i am asking our builder to install. have a butlers sink double size being installed would it be better to have the bin located under the sink or at the side. Re: Show me your rubbish! 15Dec 19, 2012 9:00 am 1rocky would it be better to have the bin located under the sink or at the side. I would recommend to have it next to the sink or where you do most of your cutting and chopping. With the bin drawer located directly under the bench, you just push everything in. Easy. If it is under the sink, you have to lift up your scrapes and move them over to the bin and you might drop a bit on the floor. It's extra work. Re: Show me your rubbish! 16Dec 19, 2012 9:29 am In our previous build we had a bin in the bottom of the cupboard next to the sink and it was a PITA! This time we have 2 x 20lt on the back of the door and it is such an improvement. They put a small drawer under the bins where I store bin liners, garbage bags etc. Next build (?) I will upgrade to the hands free version. Definitely good value for money @ $165 and much cheaper than the Franke, Hafele or Blanco bins.
