Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: Waterfalls on island bench or not? 21Dec 05, 2012 10:58 am Hi Auds. To be honest, they weren't cheap. The builder hadn't done them before so I think we got slugged at $600! But you might be able to get them cheaper - they are Clipsal "Soho Cable Management" so they're easy to get hold of. It might be worth investigating just to see what price you can get it done for, as I really think we paid over the odds for ours! Let me know how you go Re: Waterfalls on island bench or not? 22Dec 06, 2012 3:15 pm bbuilder2012 Hi Auds. To be honest, they weren't cheap. Let me know how you go We are also getting 40mm Stone Waterfalls on our island and will be doing the same thing - A lot of Dennis Family Home's displays have these in the bench top... the amount of times we saw it and had NO idea what the weird thing on the bench was is quite funny, then one day my wife pulled it and a column of 4 powerpoints popped up! Was pretty funny, they look good. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Edit: These ones are called EvoLine Power Outlets... Re: Waterfalls on island bench or not? 23Dec 06, 2012 9:09 pm Our bench will be 4250mm x 1000mm and 50mm thick. We have waterfalls too, personally I love them, but as everyone says - personal preference. The powerpoint has been my issue too. I don't want it on the outside and to be honest our electrician has said we can't due to the sink position and distance from sink to exposed plug. Not sure about that as it's a good meter from the end, but anyway.. I had the thought of converting one of our front draws in to a fake pull down draw but was too late as cabinetry had been made so they are going to put a double point at the very front of the end cupboard on the side. I can then just push the door closed when in use. I have a small son and also didn't like the thought of having cords hanging from the side around to where I would use it so at least I can tuck it all away. Re: Waterfalls on island bench or not? 25Dec 16, 2012 9:12 am Staceys Embassy I love waterfall ends and agree that powerpoints in the ends can detract from the feature. I have seen on here, a fake draw front that folds down with a powerpoint behind it. We are putting a bin draw in and at the top of the draw we are putting a fixed panel with a powerpoint in it so it is hidden, but can use it if we need it. (if that makes sense) I have seen this too, and wish we had done it I think waterfall ends are gorgeous though! Re: Waterfalls on island bench or not? 27Jan 10, 2013 11:33 am Waterfalls on the end of our island bench are great looking but also more robust if you have kids - i.e. they are always destroying something. In terms of cost our kitchen installer worked it so we got the best value from using all the stone from the slabs - i believe these come in defined lengths. Our sparky put the p/points high under the bench surface, as per the pic on this thread - hidden but handy.
