Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Nov 12, 2012 8:08 am I'm in the process of putting in a new kitchen. The kitchen company has put its name and logo on little caps (4.5 x 1cm) that cover the screws on the cupboard hinges. Everytime you open a door, these little ads flash out! I don't like it and am just wondering if this is common... A friend said I was being unreasonable and this kind of thing was everywhere these days. What do you think? Re: Kitchen company logo in cupboards - opinions? 2Nov 12, 2012 11:56 am Hi, It is your kitchen and if it annoys you, have it changed. Ask the cabinet maker for plain caps and just have one with their logo somewhere discreetly placed. I noticed in a display home recently that the cabinet maker placed a sticker inside the doors and I can understand it in that situation as many people would see it. I haven’t seen it done very often. Cheers Re: Kitchen company logo in cupboards - opinions? 3Nov 12, 2012 1:58 pm Just pop the caps off. Most kitchens dont have the caps anyway. Shameless self promotion as I call it is very common now I feel, everyone just needs to find s level that's not over the top! 2 Re: Kitchen company logo in cupboards - opinions? 5Nov 14, 2012 6:52 am Thanks for all the comments. Think I'll head down to Bunnings after the kitchen's in rather than make an issue about getting the kitchen people to change them. Maybe let them know it wasn't appreciated afterwards. You buy a car and are happy for the name and logo to be on it. All other products are branded. Why not a kitchen? Its not like its on the outside. Its inside where only you will see it. Alot of large kitchen companies do this and most people wouldnt give it another thought. But it's interesting to hear a kitchen company's point of view. As for cars, actually a lot of people object to dealers' stickers. Anyway, you're talking about mass-produced products, not custom made. Nothing about company logos on the plans and specs I signed off on. Quite apart from the branding issue, the 'busyness' of the logo and printing disrupt the clean look. I wouldn't have wanted purely decorative coloured markings either. You're right, no-one else is likely to see it, so what's the point? Some people might not care, some might even like it, but some are going to be annoyed and that's not going to work in the company's favour. Why not just ask the customer before doing it? Most cabinet makers and small companys dont use them. But alot of the large companys do. I am not talking about dealers stickers, I am talking about the make and model badge (holden commdore, ford falcon) Almost every product you buy has the manufactures details on it I dont see a difference. Why is Smeg allowed to have there name on your cooktop or oven but the company that built you kitchen cant have there name hidden behind the closed doors. Sorry but I really think its a bit of a storm in a tea cup.
