Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Nov 03, 2012 2:56 pm Have three laminate panels under the breakfast bar area of my kitchen/dining area. These panels are in the same blonde wood look of the kitchen cupboards. Was considering covering them. Looked at laminate pant. But was wondering if anyone had any other ideas? Saw on one of the home Reno shows a map of the local area on similar area. Can you put wallpaper over laminate? This could be a cheap but effective solution., Re: Covering laminate 2Nov 04, 2012 8:14 am Dont waste your time with laminate paint. Its an overpriced product aimed at the DIY market that doesnt know any better. You can use any paint you like on laminate, you just need to give it a really good sand with 120-180 grit sandpaper first. The only reason paint doesnt stick to laminate is because its such a flat shinny surface. Sanding the surface "keys" it and allows any sort of paint to stick! Yes you can put wall paper on laminate. Again a very good sand is needed first!
