Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Oct 25, 2012 7:33 pm Yes I know Bone White is but that's not in the limited Builder's range So I can choose: New Crystal Salt, New Basmati Sorbet Has anyone seen all three together, I have ordered samples today Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 2Oct 25, 2012 8:07 pm Hi Donna I have used both Sorbet and New Crystal Salt in my build (they still have the rubber protection on so can't post a good photo yet sorry), and I think they both have the same base colour which is like a cream-ish colour. Sorbet has bigger pieces of stone in it, so more flecks, and Basmati has even bigger flecks than Sorbet but has a lot of white flecks so this may be a good option if you like the speckled look. I have paired New Crystal Salt with polar white cabinets in my bathrooms, and it looks off white in comparison (I wanted it to complement my floor tiles), but it is still fairly close to white. Here's a couple of picts, not the best but all I have for now: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Sorbet Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ New Crystal Salt on Polar white Hope that helps! Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 3Oct 25, 2012 11:23 pm I ordered samples from their website to have sitting around before we decide. Though I didn't think to check with the builder what colours they offer... Should do that before I fall in love with one I can't have! Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 4Oct 25, 2012 11:53 pm Thanks LeighLou, so which do you think goes better with the Polar White? What is your splashback in your bathroom? fmac - that's what happened to me, I liked Bone White but would have to pay big $$$ to upgrade. Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 5Oct 26, 2012 12:17 am Donna what colours do Ventura offer? We're building with Aussie who are owned by them and we got the stone benches as an upgrade, didn't even think we would have a limited choice of colours! Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 6Oct 26, 2012 8:33 am Hey Donna I would say overall the New Crystal Salt is whitest. The sorbet has flecks in it, that are grey, greenish grey, white, bluey-grey. The splash behind the benchtop in the bathroom are white 300x600 tiles. The sink is also white ceramic, so you can see that the contrast is not that huge between them and the stone. I would say if you were to use a darker shade tile and laminex that the stone would look white in comparison. Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 7Oct 26, 2012 9:41 am Thanks LeighLou, I will go with New Crystal Salt I think. fmac, the choice is: (Whites) New Crystal Salt, New Basmati, Sorbet (grey's/brown/black) New Byzantine, New Sable Lux, Piazza, French Black and Midnight Rendezvous Hope that helps. Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 8Oct 26, 2012 7:15 pm Hi Donna Thanks. That's interesting, I emailed the sales guy today to ask and he's said there are a few others... I'll keep that email just in case I do pick something other then those, though the sorbet and new basmati are front contenders for us at the moment. There are a lot of decisions to make between now and the 30th of November! Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 9Oct 26, 2012 8:13 pm Oh Gawd I've been at this since the 30th June and I am going to the tile shop again tomorrow, my sanity is hanging by a thread! Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 10Oct 26, 2012 8:51 pm Ours was kind of an impulse buy, as much as deciding to build can be! We went to see someone about it at the beginning of September, put an offer on the block and signed the PPA (?) a few weeks later, signed the building contract last week, had finance approved Thursday and have prestart on 30th November.... It's been a crazy couple of months! It's only a very small 3x2 on a 300m2 block with a 10m frontage so there actually wasn't a whole lot of choice with what we could realistically do with the block, and our budget.... My partner also wouldn't commit to looking at anything until finance was approved.... It will be a busy few weeks! Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 12Oct 26, 2012 9:39 pm I found new basmati has the whitest background but it has large grey specks (which is one I've chosen). I have a sorbet sample here but don't think I have the new crystal one Essastone - which of these is the whitest 13Oct 26, 2012 9:41 pm We also went with basmati loved it. PPA 30/6/12, Land 28/06/12, Contract 7/9/12, Valuation 11/9/12, Prestart 13/9/12, Settlement 18/10/12, Building Permit Issued 18/10/12, Footings 30/10/11, Slab 31/10/11 Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 14Oct 27, 2012 12:33 am Donna we are building in pearsall. In the established part rather then one of the new estates, we liked the location, walking distance to the the primary school which may come handy in the future and IGA. Looking at the new estates we also think we paid a reasonable price for the block. We're doing a white kitchen and currently leaning towards the sorbet or new basmati. I liked the French nougat but it seems to have shades of brown which doesn't go with our colour scheme. Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 15Oct 27, 2012 1:36 am Donna I'm not sure where in Perth you are but have you been to the laminex group in Osborne park? I went the other day and they have large sheets of the essastone, while I like my little samples it gives you a much better idea of how it will look in one large piece. Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 16Oct 27, 2012 1:48 am Yeah Osborne Park is a day out for us! I would go up tomorrow but we have to go to Perth in the evening, twice in one day is not a joy. May go next weekend. Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 17Oct 27, 2012 10:16 am Donna Yeah I went back and read your blog and realised it might be a bit of a trip! I've read so many since I found this blog, it's been so helpful! We're renting just up the road which makes it a bit easier! Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 18Oct 27, 2012 4:51 pm Decided on New Crystal Salt, Black Subway Tiles (200x100) for Splashback, Cabinets in Formica Gloss Snowdrift. Black Bar stools, Black Pendants. Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 19Oct 28, 2012 10:18 pm That sounds great! We're going for the whites for the kitchen bench and cabinets but still to pick the splash back! So much to still do! Re: Essastone - which of these is the whitest 20Sep 01, 2013 8:39 pm Hi Ladies n Gents, If u have any more photos of your finished benchtops in the new basmati and/or sorbet could you please send me the links. These are currently the 2 stones we like too. Also, what colour floor tile do you have with the stone? We will have white cupboards/kitchen also. Thank you Megz I'm building a new house. First time using stone The stone I've picked is Essastone Chalkstone. I've since read reviews on a general google search and most of them are… 0 2819 i think we've got essastone, could even be the Chalkstone (or it's equivalent 10 years ago). by now has couple of chips on the edge where we have accidentally banged some… 2 2646 Caesarstone, quantum zero, Q Stone zero, porcelain.
