Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Oct 12, 2012 9:32 pm My kitchen will be 5.6 metres long and i have no idea how it will look with so many overhead cupboards running the full length across the kitchen wall. The cutlery drawers located on the island bench will be 900mm however the overhead cupboards on the back wall will be 892mm. They are standard 2 door opening segments. Just not sure how this all works but should i be requesting wider cupboards? I am planning on having two 600mm ovens side by side so this would obviously alter the width of the Oven Tower currently in place, but what width would it be? Would it be exactly 1200 or more? Or would there be two oven towers? I am a fish out of water with this! Please would love anyone's advice on what they think i could do to improve! Should i have a different design overhead cupboards instead of the 2 door opening segments? Should I have more pot drawers? I'm so confused! Apologies, I don't have a soft copy of the elevations so i just drew it up myself: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And here is the actual floor plan... http://i1358.photobucket.com/albums/q765/Crystally27/GroundFloor_zpsfdfddd6f.jpg Building the Autern 005 with urbanedge Homes Re: Kitchen cupboards and layout... please please help! 2Oct 18, 2012 11:02 am We did a 3d mock up of our kitchen using the ikea software. that might help you visualise your design. There are alot available, Bunnings also had one. The ikea one seemed to be the easiest to use. Re: Kitchen cupboards and layout... please please help! 6Oct 19, 2012 9:45 am The bunnings one you don't have to. The ikea one you do but we didn't have any problems. If you live near an ikea you can go into the store and use there computers. It is also good as the staff can help you put it together. Re: Kitchen cupboards and layout... please please help! 7Oct 22, 2012 10:30 pm Hi Christally, the kitchen would start at the right side with 2 x 600mm tall oven cabinets which leaves you with 4400mm, minus the 900mm for the cooktop cabinet, which leaves you 3500mm. is the cooktop to be in the middle of the wall or the open space (4400mm)? why are the wall cabinet 892mm? have you considered a window splashback on either side of the cooktop? have you thought about wall cabinets with lifting doors? where is the fridge located? in the prep room? You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn. The doors can’t open past 90 degrees and it’s difficult and maybe impossible to remove drawers 2 15629 Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation.
