Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Oct 10, 2012 8:47 pm Is 90cm between the oven and the benchtop enough space to move in the kitchen? We are putting in a 60cm Miele oven - Because we are having an L shaped kitchen with an island bench and the oven is going at the end of the L shape - there is a 90cm space. We have 1.4m space between the island and the kitchen - is that too much? I hope I have made sense! Thanks Re: Kitchen Question 2Oct 11, 2012 6:21 am 900mm is a bit narrow. I normally say 1050mm is the minimum space. It is tight but it is doable. We don't have an oven opening though. We have 1300 between main bench and length of the island. That is ample, ..2 can pass easily, so 1400 is heaps. If you can't move your island down a bit, then it will be ok, but if you can..do it! You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want.
