Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: Oven Towers - side by side or on top? 21Oct 08, 2012 8:06 am I agree too PD but the problem with that is that if you are going for two wall ovens and a MW ( or maybe a steam oven as well ) then you will have three possible four appliances in a row horizontally which could be 2400mm wide. It eats into the bench space a lot unless of course you have a large kitchen. Stewie Re: Oven Towers - side by side or on top? 22Jun 06, 2013 11:10 am PAB_34 This was the setup I was thinking of having in my kitchen.... [ Photo missing, Was 450mm oven with 150mm warmer under next to a 600mm high oven) ] Pepsi_Drinker That's exactly the configuration we're looking at, but with Neff appliances. IMHO, Ovens above one another puts one too high and one too low whereas side-by-side they can both be at your ideal height. P_D Stewie D I agree too PD but the problem.......It eats into the bench space a lot unless of course you have a large kitchen. Stewie Hahahahahahahaaaaa ................ That's me laughing at myself !! We having a (reasonably) large kitchen with an island bench, but one of the criteria is that Mrs P_D really, really prefers to have the bench "clean". To achieve this our kitchen designer has put the sink on the back wall, which, with the draining board, loses around 900mm or so of bench space, so she has put the two ovens and warmer back in a tower !!! While I do think side-by-side is better from both an ergonomic and aesthetic view, we went to the Miele showroom and they have the exact configuration that our designer has drawn and it does actually work reasonably well. So in our case we've compromised on the oven configuration to give Mrs P_D her clear island breakfast bar....... Being as that one of our kitchen designers main jobs is to design kitchens and bathrooms to win awards for builders display homes, as you can imaging her design does look pretty darn schmick...... But it's not the way I planned it in my mind...and if I had my drathers I still like the side-by-side configuration !!! P_D . I see if they can adjust the hinges. 4 3793 Hi Chippy, no there isn't, gave it a really good look through and literally opened everything and checked all edges as well. Hence the question, just hoping someone would… 2 2077 My daughter and son in law are about to start building, they are having a 600mm induction cook top and 900mm oven. It's personal preferance 5 10827 |
