Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Sep 27, 2012 11:29 am I need some good quality advice on what i should do about my oven tower situation. I was thinking of having a 60cm Oven in the oven tower and a microwave with a warming tray (to make it the same dimensions as the oven). Should I have these side by side in in the oven tower or one on top of each other? I don't want a skinny oven tower.. i want it to look chunky so if i have it side by side, would this be sufficient enough? Will it look a bit empty with just the oven and microwave or should i get a double oven and microwave and steamer to make it it look visually impressive? We are staying with the same appliances (and setup on one wall) but the entire kitchen layout has changed. ----------------------------------------------- http://pab34newdigs.blogspot.com.au/ ----------------------------------------------- Re: Oven Towers - side by side or on top? 5Sep 27, 2012 10:09 pm Side by side is the new black, get with the program groover!! @builderforlife Building inspector and passionate about construction When you need an expert to take a look. We have a steamer, convection microwave and two ovens, originally was going to get two warming drawers for under the steamer and m/wave but was just as cheap to get another oven. Re: Oven Towers - side by side or on top? 13Sep 28, 2012 10:13 pm I think it'd be really good! Don't worry. .. I still haven't figured out how to clean the oven yet. . .apparently it has some self-clean feature. .. just have to read the instructions. . . can't be bothered! I want it sooooooooooooooo bad!!! Are your ovens the ones on top side by side? Was it very expensive to get all 4 or will some places do a nice package deal? When i went to Harvey Norman to view the range, the sales consultant advised me that most people aren't aware but for self cleaning ovens, you need to remove the trays and shelves (including the ones on the sides of oven) before you use the self cleaning function or else it will ruin them over time. Was it very expensive to get all 4 or will some places do a nice package deal? Haha crystally, DH got the theatre room, I got the ktichen, easy peasy The two ovens are the bottom ones, but the microwave is a convection microwave so is also an oven which is great when just heating small things(not that I have used it yet ) but that's the plan Yeah it was expensive, to get it all matching, ie handles, knobs etc, my only choices were Miele, V-zug and Siemens. Originally looked at bosch but their microwave didn't match. So the four appliances +dishwasherwere around $15k surp then we had the cooktop, range hood and fridge, let's just say the sales guy had a good day that day Re: Oven Towers - side by side or on top? 18Sep 29, 2012 9:58 am gogo65 let's just say the sales guy had a good day that day Building the Autern 005 with urbanedge Homes Re: Oven Towers - side by side or on top? 20Oct 07, 2012 1:23 pm That's exactly the configuration we're looking at, but with Neff appliances. IMHO, Ovens above one another puts one too high and one too low whereas side-by-side they can both be at your ideal height. P_D .
