Re: Advise on Kitchen Layout 46Oct 10, 2012 8:18 am Re: Advise on Kitchen Layout 47Oct 11, 2012 11:12 am GREAT!!! although 900 is not wide enough between stove and island. I would do min 1200 (min is 1300 and I love it, 2 can pass easily) but otherwise FABULOUS!! Re: Advise on Kitchen Layout 48Oct 11, 2012 12:34 pm Yes i thought that about 900 also. I have the room to change it so will do that! Thanks Kiwi! Re: Advise on Kitchen Layout 49Oct 11, 2012 12:36 pm we have 900 between our END island and our wall of the pantry and that works fine but as a cooking area...too tight. good girl...move it forward and you are away!! Re: Advise on Kitchen Layout 50Oct 11, 2012 12:37 pm Kiwi, do you think the wall oven is that location is ok? Re: Advise on Kitchen Layout 51Oct 11, 2012 12:51 pm yes, I think so, cos you can use the sink to put hot things down on if you cant find a chopping board etc quickly!! (I use my stove top, as my oven is below) but you wont be able to.. but a sink is good and no kid will get smashed by a hot tray. are you going to have a door on the pantry? as you know, I do not, cos no one can see in and i love it..cos who wants to have a door in the way all day..cos you never shut it! also the light from the window will help you see things easily and we only need a light on at night in there. on the right of the pantry, try and have 300 mm wide shelves, great for tins / glasses even if you can only have 200 wide, make use of that whole wall with storage and have plates on the opposite shelves if they wont fit on your 200 wide ones Re: Advise on Kitchen Layout 52Oct 11, 2012 4:41 pm For me the first plan had too many corners so this one looks a lot better design. In the pantry I would get rid of the corner cupboard and have a bench about 500 deep with shelves below and above on the left and shelves down the right. As kiwi said even if they are only 200 deep they will hold heaps and it makes it easy to find your canisters. As you may be entertaining visitors on the terrace near the kitchen window I would recommend a cavity slider for the pantry. You will probably do a lot of prep near the sink so there may not be much happening between the cooktop and island but you will find it more friendly with at least an 1100 gap. Regards, Grumbles You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn. The doors can’t open past 90 degrees and it’s difficult and maybe impossible to remove drawers 2 15600 Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation.
