We have decided on Black Galaxy granite 60mm for our bench tops. The cupboards will be gloss white. The breakfast bar will have a waterfall end and we were asked by the person building our home, who also happens to be a cabinet maker what material we would like on the outside face (underneath the benchtop overhang facing the living dining room) of the breakfast bar. On first thought we decided on gloss white the same as the cupboards but we would like to consider other options.
One we have been also considering is glass in the same colour as the splashback.
After visiting the house today and seeing the cupboards in place I had an idea. The should be enough left over material from the Granite slabs by my rough calcs (have not spoken to his stone guy yet) to cover the face with black granite presenting a full granite face to the living area.
Has anyone seen this done?
What do others think of the idea?
How would it be put in place?
Anyone have a picture of something similar?
