It's a pullout type and has 2 setting, normal flow plus spray. It's brilliant. I ordered it through Bunnings, was the cheapest through them at the time 2 years ago. They did this by showing them the web price is on the site I posted above. I would suggest anyone after Methven try it out. That brings the Tropaz down to under $300. I have Methven for the shower/basin mixers and I did have one that had a slight fault. Methven sent a whole new unit with very little fuss. Paul Recommend a kitchen mixer tap 12Sep 22, 2012 8:01 pm Jaeger LeCoultre KWC (from Switzerland) and Hansa(from Germany) are very goods brands in taps. Also Hansgrohe, Grohe, Gessi and Franke are pretty good too. I haven't even seen KWC in Melb. I've currently have a Grohe mixer and will have 3 Grohe mixers to be installed in my house I'm currently building. So you can work out what I think of them. Also have 3 Hansa shower mixers going in. Bought a Franke mixer for my parents, I was very underwhelmed with the engineering and design of it after installing it- the hoses swivel when you swivel the outlet!!! Here is what I think of Franke Taps- they make beautiful sinks! Lol My opinion, go German. They aren't even that expensive. Cheap Chinese made taps look good when new, but aren't built to last. I learnt this the hard way and will only use German now. Re: Recommend a kitchen mixer tap 13Sep 23, 2012 11:59 pm You may be correct about chinese taps not being built to last. But given we can buy about 5 for the price of one, thought we might just take the chance. Even if they only last 3 years, we r so far in front it really doesn't matter. I learnt this the hard way so will go for quality over price/flashiness these day. Some Chinese made will be ok, but I had bad experiences with O-star and ECT brands, so will only go German from now on, given they are only marginally more expensive than decent Dorf/Caroma Re: Recommend a kitchen mixer tap 15Sep 26, 2012 9:52 am JB1 Given that basic Hansgrohe taps can be had for $150 I think it's false economy to buy a cheaper Chinese one that will not last as long. Hansgrohe are excellent taps, I have the Tapis taps in the bathrooms for the last 10 years. And they weren't really dear at the time. In terms of quality for German brands, first comes Hansgrohe, then Grohe and then Hansa. However, I'm very happy with my kitchen Methven tap too. Also Hansgrohe, Grohe, Gessi and Franke are pretty good too. We have a KWC tap called Eve. See attached link for images. It is a beautiful tap engineered to perfection. We paid around $950 (reduced from about $1600 from memory) which at the time I thought was exhorbitant but I get pleasure every day just looking at the elegance of this tap and from its perfect function. You can buy at E&S Trading. http://www.google.com.au/search?q=kwc+e ... 80&bih=775 Personally I would not go for one of the big "industrial/commercial" taps. I think it is a look that is already dating and why have a tap that "dominates" a look so much. KWC is a different league, nice when one can afford it and one lives in an area, where a higher standard of living is the norm. I'm not living in such an area, and when I have to sell the property, not a single person would give me a dollar extra for it. However, I would enjoy the tabs while I have them. everything that comes out of Switzerland, and that's a lot for household products, is very good. Re: Recommend a kitchen mixer tap 18Sep 26, 2012 12:28 pm The following is a straight cut and paste from a post i wrote ages ago. Our kitchen mixer is a gessi tap bought locally, the rest we imported..... Don’t be afraid of looking overseas. We bought all our tap ware from the UK at a vastly cheaper price than we could get here in Melbourne. The exchange rate was a little better when we did it, but the prices are still way ahead of anything in Oz. Just be aware that some of the fittings, especially mixer taps are different sizes. I was able to source adapters from the new Masters hardware stores. Plumbing supply stores such as Reece will not sell you these adapters as they are aware how much cheaper the UK prices are. Have a read of this thread especially page 17 http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-re ... ?t=1614240 Oh and special mention must be made of Walton in the uk. That’s where we got our stuff from, when I placed the order the sales guy said that some of it would have to come direct from Germany and that it would take up to 4 days to arrive. When I then asked how long it would take to arrive in Australia..... he said... No that’s 4 days to you. I ordered on a Saturday night and the whole shipment was on my doorstep the following Thursday! If only local retailers could do that at a fair price. Same goes for most kitchen appliances and fittings, unless you sell within a year or 2 of doing a kitchen, no matter where you live. Some things are worth spending extra on and some are not. In my opinion and after years of dealing with taps that get wobbly, leaky, loose or have joints that build grime I figured a tap was worth putting some money into. Along with your fridge and your stove top it is probably the item in your kitchen that is going to be used 10+ times a day. Ideally it should be functional, longlasting and good to look at and generally you have to pay more for all that. that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 4385 Brass or 2) Stainless steel made - which Kitchen tap is good for drinking.Brass kitchen taps in Australia contain lead… 0 4650 7 3713 |
