Also Hansgrohe, Grohe, Gessi and Franke are pretty good too. We have a KWC tap called Eve. See attached link for images. It is a beautiful tap engineered to perfection. We paid around $950 (reduced from about $1600 from memory) which at the time I thought was exhorbitant but I get pleasure every day just looking at the elegance of this tap and from its perfect function. You can buy at E&S Trading. http://www.google.com.au/search?q=kwc+e ... 80&bih=775 Personally I would not go for one of the big "industrial/commercial" taps. I think it is a look that is already dating and why have a tap that "dominates" a look so much. KWC is a different league, nice when one can afford it and one lives in an area, where a higher standard of living is the norm. I'm not living in such an area, and when I have to sell the property, not a single person would give me a dollar extra for it. However, I would enjoy the tabs while I have them. everything that comes out of Switzerland, and that's a lot for household products, is very good. Re: Recommend a kitchen mixer tap 18Sep 26, 2012 11:28 am The following is a straight cut and paste from a post i wrote ages ago. Our kitchen mixer is a gessi tap bought locally, the rest we imported..... Don’t be afraid of looking overseas. We bought all our tap ware from the UK at a vastly cheaper price than we could get here in Melbourne. The exchange rate was a little better when we did it, but the prices are still way ahead of anything in Oz. Just be aware that some of the fittings, especially mixer taps are different sizes. I was able to source adapters from the new Masters hardware stores. Plumbing supply stores such as Reece will not sell you these adapters as they are aware how much cheaper the UK prices are. Have a read of this thread especially page 17 http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-re ... ?t=1614240 Oh and special mention must be made of Walton in the uk. That’s where we got our stuff from, when I placed the order the sales guy said that some of it would have to come direct from Germany and that it would take up to 4 days to arrive. When I then asked how long it would take to arrive in Australia..... he said... No that’s 4 days to you. I ordered on a Saturday night and the whole shipment was on my doorstep the following Thursday! If only local retailers could do that at a fair price. Same goes for most kitchen appliances and fittings, unless you sell within a year or 2 of doing a kitchen, no matter where you live. Some things are worth spending extra on and some are not. In my opinion and after years of dealing with taps that get wobbly, leaky, loose or have joints that build grime I figured a tap was worth putting some money into. Along with your fridge and your stove top it is probably the item in your kitchen that is going to be used 10+ times a day. Ideally it should be functional, longlasting and good to look at and generally you have to pay more for all that. that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7392 Brass or 2) Stainless steel made - which Kitchen tap is good for drinking.Brass kitchen taps in Australia contain lead… 0 6734 7 5139 |
