I'm currently renovating my kitchen and wondering if i should invest the money into stone benchtops or if there is a similar product out there I could look at. Just concious as this is not a dream home and my kitchen was only $2500 and stone is looking at $2800. Thank you in advance jenjen Re: Bench tops........ 2Sep 19, 2012 4:44 pm just a thought..and you might hate it, but I used laminex/ formica but did them 100mm thick. awesome. cost about $300 more than a 50mm all up ( a bench and a breakfast bar) but looks solid and grounds the kitchen. really happy with it, and sure..everyone loves stone but if you dont have the money..you dont have the money. (ours would have been about $6000, but I spent $1700 instead) Re: Bench tops........ 3Sep 19, 2012 4:44 pm IMHO I dont think its worth putting in stone thats worth more than the whole kitchen.. if you like the stone look, you can get laminate bench top with stone look finish.. i think kiwi said it better..
