After a while they can look ordinary unless refinished. The benchtops also do scratch and stain more easily than CS (although that can also stain). We decided to stick with SS. My mum has corian and hasn't had a problem with food stains but has never put heat on it and we're not game to try it. The thing is my brother has a CS and it chipped fairly easily. I'm still torn! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I find it very easy to wipe clean, often with a single pass. Have had no stains to date, even with my DH who slops tea everywhere and leaves it all day. I love the seamless join of the integrated sink, nowhere for dirt/germs to collect. The matt finish of the sink tends to stain, particularly if not rinsed. Usually a bit of a scrub with a scourer cleans it up, or bleach for an extra clean. So far CS has been solid with no chips, but we are using 30mm slabs. For the stains, it was things such as spilt curry, and the usual staining foods; not heat. I think turmeric seems to be the worst. Re: anyone have hanex/staron/corian benchtop w/ integrated s 6Sep 19, 2012 4:57 pm Ok if it's turmeric stains then I can handle that. We cook a lot of curries from scratch and find that it comes out when I use my dish wand on it and give it a scrub for a minute. Beetroot also comes out the same way. The main thing that has me leading towards the hanex is the seamless join of sink. We currently have an undermount sink and the grime that gets in there grosses me out. We clean it properly but it is hard to get right in there. Mrs Mozz, when you use a scourer on the staron, it doesn't scratch the surface? Re: anyone have hanex/staron/corian benchtop w/ integrated s 7Sep 19, 2012 8:23 pm I use scourer in the sink only. No need for more than a cloth for the bench surface. There are small scratches on the bench which are noticeable depending on the time of day. I was told that the dark colours show scratches more easily. 2 2508 Have had stone benches with undermount sink (kitchen) and drop-in (laundry) and top-mounted basin (bathrooms) for coming up 13 years and not one chip/scratch of any kind.… 2 9659 Hi Courtney The mitred edges are glued up with epoxy so those little holes and gaps are areas that weren't filled correctly. Silicone is the wrong product to fill them… 2 12910 |
