Hi,
We have chosen a bosch fully integrated dishwasher as part of our build, being supplied and installed by the builder. The builder is also supplying and fitting a laminated front door panel, and a kickboard to match in with the rest of the kitchen. We should be going to site any day now and everything has been signed off etc. However - I have just had a horrible thought! We will be tiling post handover and have read on this forum that the kickboard needs to be able to be removed in case the dishwasher needs to be serviced.
As the dishwasher will be fitted prior to tiling, there will be no tiles actually underneath the dishwasher (as opposed to just having the space for a dishwasher and tiling and then sliding a dishwasher in.
Therefore when the tiler comes (and the dishwasher is already there), what happens to the grouting at that part of the skirting board??? Will there be a gap between the finish of the tile and the start of the skirting board??
Would I be best to have the dishwasher removed altogether, ie just have a space, so the tiler can tile the area after handover and then try and have the fully integrated dishwasher fitted???
I have no idea what to do now and need to let our builder know asap.
Can anyone who has a fully integrated or semi-integrated dishwasher (with separate kick board) let me know what you did when it came to having your flooring done ie did you do flooring first and then dishwasher? Or fit the dishwasher and then flooring - and if so, what happens to the kick board.
Thanks SOOOO much!
