If we wanted to purchase a fridge with the filtered water and ice-maker....DO you REALLY need a plumber to connect it up to the water outlet in the wall??? The delivery would only incorporate the physical positioning it in the house wouldn't it? They are not going to actually connect it up for you so do you really need to call out a plumber for a 5 minute job???? I know a few members have these types of fridges so i thought i'd ask what you did when connecting your fridge???? Re: Water & Ice Fridge Connenction 2Mar 25, 2008 4:26 pm As far as I'm aware you only need a plumber if you dont already have a water outlet near your fridge.
Its like connectinig up a d/washer or washing machine. Companies always recommend you get a licensed tradie to install their products but who really does. Go overboard with the silicon tape and you should be fine. If you get a puddle of water under the fridge you know why! Re: Water & Ice Fridge Connenction 3Mar 25, 2008 6:02 pm We're getting a tap put into the fridge space for just this purpose. Either that or there is a puppy in the house re your q p, Nope - if the tap exists, do it yourself. Do you get the plumber in to change the hose in the garden Steve Re: Water & Ice Fridge Connenction 6Mar 25, 2008 8:52 pm Yak_Chat Do you get the plumber in to change the hose in the garden Steve Hmmm..... that depends Steve, anyone know a CUTE plumber that could render such a service????? Re: Water & Ice Fridge Connenction 8Mar 25, 2008 10:11 pm P,
DO it yourself. Make sure you read the manual for any special requirements. It is ridiculously simple (1 connection) and less work than a dishwasher (2 connections) or a washing machine (3 connections) Remember too. Teflon tape and monkey wrench's are your friends Re: Water & Ice Fridge Connenction 9Mar 25, 2008 11:06 pm mattwalker P, DO it yourself. Make sure you read the manual for any special requirements. Teflon tape and monkey wrench's are your friends What no power tools required!!! Damn!!!! But in all seriousness, thanks everyone, another task for my unpaid labourer (Ian) it seems...now all i have to do is buy the fridge!!! "Hey hunny.......you wanna go out shopping.........AGAIN?????" I had a similar issue with my fridge not too long ago. It wasn't the same model, but the symptoms were pretty much the same: the compressor would start and then stop… 3 7522 18 90424 From what I know about water tanks (I've been working with a client on them for a few years now) is this - The concrete can last a lifetime if they don't crack for some… 2 10620 |
