The service tech had a full saturday of calls - and all he was doing was the 'fix' - they were flat out keeping up with them. All it involves is cutting off a suspect plug inside the top end of the door (behind the display panel) and replacing it with 2 seperately insulated connectors. Apparently the OEM plug can potentially allow moisture to bridge out active & neutral causing a short that can heat up & burn the thing from the inside out. I would loose too much cupboard space if I got one also. See your point, there is four of us and the kids seam to think they can have a drink and half an hour later get a different glass to have another drink!! That may be my fault, I have taught them to put the dishes STRAIGHT in the dishwasher. Paula Re: Dishwashers may 'burn down house' 13Mar 19, 2008 1:57 pm My kids are the same. Perhaps it's a more subtle thing: we teach kids not to re-use a plate for food, but they don't quite grasp that's it's OK to re-use a glass just used for water. Re: Dishwashers may 'burn down house' 14Mar 19, 2008 5:16 pm There's only 2 of us..... and we use ours all the time.
Albeit we only run it when it's full, so that can take almost a week, so we end up going thru all the cutlery & most of the plates before it is sufficiently full to make it worthwhile to run it. Re: Dishwashers may 'burn down house' 15Mar 19, 2008 7:30 pm With 4 kids, I can't wait to get a dishwasher. Our current kitchen (designed by my father-in-law) is only 1.8 x 3 m and there is no way we can squeeze a dishwasher in there - we can hardly squeeze 2 people in. I am not a brick expert, but rendering would be 1 option, it would be costly to do the entire house though.... 2 6687 I engaged my builder in December last year and we’ve been working on preliminary drawings for last couple of months.
