Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jun 07, 2012 4:26 pm Can anyone tell me if 1m is to small a gap between the island bench and the back bench, we have done a variation to widen the kitchen bench to be the full width of the plaster wall the island butts against, however now looking at the plans the gap is just over 1m and I am hoping this isn't to small? Original width was 1220 from door panel to door panel, less the overhang of the kitchen benches. We are adding 100-150 to the bench width so will be around 1040-2000 wide. We are also having a freestanding oven. Any opinions would be great. Thanks Re: Width between kitchen benches? 2Jun 07, 2012 4:46 pm we just discussed this in a thread last month, 1200 min, 1300 better (that is mine!!) hence saying 1300, but a met is too small imo. Re: Width between kitchen benches? 3Jun 08, 2012 6:18 pm 1000mm minimum. My tops are 1100mm apart and it works perfectly well!
