What was the difference? what was the result? are you happy with the facelift? Was it worth it? Any comments on what bench top is best, stone or laminate? What scratches and stains the least and is the easiest to care for? I would appreciate any help, as we are looking at both options at present. I did a face lift (doors and tops) for a customer a couple of years ago. I priced for the facelift and also for the full kitchen. There was only $4000 dollars difference between the two. When you do a facelift you still need a plumber and sparky to do a disconect/reconect and also new splashbacks if you replace the tops. What most people dont know is that the white board that is used for the cabinets is by far the cheapest part of the kitchen! Its your doors, benchtops and appliances that account for the majority of the cost. Quoted over $20k for brand new and paid $13k for facelift. More than happy with result - I went with laminate benchtops in a high gloss - sorry, don't remember which one, but it's white with black/grey speckles - everyone who sees it thinks it's stone. I've never had stone benchtops so can't comment on that, but my benchs haven't scratched or marked (yet!). I'm in western Sydney. The fellow I used does both full and facelift kitchens. Re: Face lift kitchen v new kitchen 4Jun 13, 2012 5:57 pm 13K for a facelift with laminate tops? What else did you have done? That seems quite high.
