PLEASE help a newbie 2Jun 02, 2012 11:20 am Hmm, honestly I don't think it will look silly, lots of people I have noticed are having the brown white opposing cabinets setup design, it's really up to you in a two tone kitchen on what cabinets you make white and what you make brown. When you first see your kitchen you will only see the Polytec Tuffle Lini everywhere as the white cabinets are hidden at the back of the island and your overheads are are also Truffle. Did you want more of a balance between the brown and white? I actually nearly did you opposite to you and was going to have an all white kitchen with just the back of the island in a wood veneer, it's just personal choice. As for the pantry door being higher than the overheads if it were me It wouldn't worry me as they are two differnt things, I would be more worried about having doors near doors or cabinets near cabinets at different heights. It's hard not to panic hey when your decisions are finally locked into place. I recently picked my tiles and I am now coming up with the perfect ideas of what I should have done. Re: Kitchen Dilema!! PLEASE help a newbie 3Jun 02, 2012 12:24 pm IMO everyone doubts what they have chosen....then they think about it and love there choices again, I love your colors youve chosen, very similar to what Ive chosen for my kitchen, hopefully we'll start building soon and I can show you a pic What color splashback or tiles are you having? if youve gone with a lighter color it will all tie in.When are you starting to build? Seeing it in real life will put you out of your misery! your kitchen is going to look great! Cant comment on the ceiling door height thingy, we couldnt afford to raise our ceilings. All the best! Re: Kitchen Dilema!! PLEASE help a newbie 4Jun 02, 2012 1:43 pm Thanks for your thoughts, I'm still not 100% sure what to do. If I get rid of the white cupboards on the island it might be too dark and the white on the floor cupboards at the back seem out of place. The splash back we have chosen is somewhere between the ivory of the caesarstone and the white of the overhead cupboards. I am feeling better about the cupboard heights, I think it would look more strange having all the doors 2340 and then having a 2100 butlers pantry door. We are still waiting for our land to register, we just had our road gutters put in last week and the road base has gone down. Hopefully it will have title this month, our builders have already sent away our plans to the draftsman. We could see earth works in a few weeks *excited* Re: Kitchen Dilema!! PLEASE help a newbie 6Jun 03, 2012 8:33 pm I haven't seen any kitchens with 3 sides one colour and 1 another. I've only ever seen two colours if there is a waterfall there to break it up.
