Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 May 04, 2012 1:19 pm Hi helpful members, We're in the final stages of our kitchen design before sign off and worried about our stone colour. To give you a sense of the overall kitchen, some of the details are: * Vivid white poly shaker style doors. * Undercupboard rangehood * 2.8m x 1m island bench * 900mm freestanding oven with 800mm bench space either side * Splashback will be stone * Spotted Gum flooring We're looking to keep the whole kitchen white, and at this stage are looking at the following CS colours: * Snow * Ocean Foam * Ice Snow Given we're using vivid white for the doors, we're worried that Snow will not be compatable with the door colours, but we don't want a stone with too much fleck in it. What do you thin would suit best, and are there any colours from other stone products we should be looking at? Thanks for your help. Re: Benchtop colour with Vivid White cabinets 3May 04, 2012 2:26 pm My kitchen is Ice Snow(small fleck) with Polytec classic white but that doesn't mean vivid white will look OK with Ice Snow. We could recommend different combinations but colour choice is so personal and you need to put your samples together to make the selection that best suits you. You don't say the area you live in but if it is Sydney you should visit the Caesarstone showroom at Alexandria. They have samples about 10 foot high and I changed my colour choice after my visit. If this is not possible get some samples sent to you and their web page will give you names and addresses of kitchen companies with displays in your area. Best of luck. Leaning towards White Shimmer at the moment. I, too, love bright whites. I am looking at vivid white for cabinets and bone white (the essastone version of CS Snow) for the benchtop. My island is the same length as yours and i also have a 900 freestanding oven.. What stone did you choose in the end? and do you like the vivid white on your cabinets? our walls are antique white usa so want some nice and crisp and bright. look forward to hearing from you. You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want. Cabinetmakers use MDF because its cheap… 2 9959 Thanks mate. Yeah good points! Leaning towards Option 3 to get a bit extra space in the cabinets but not going too crazy high (and expensive).
