Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Apr 28, 2012 12:21 pm With our pantry, I am considering having 5 drawers in the pantry with 2 long doors covering the whole pantry. I know this is a pain to have to open the pantry door and then pull the drawer out, but I was thinking that it would look nicer than seeing 3 drawers at the bottom then the 2 doors on the top. Also what do I do with tall items such as sauce bottles etc. I would need a really high drawer. Also, do I put the potations and onions in the bottom drawer or do I need baskets put in. Any suggestions here thanks. Re: Pantry drawers behind pantry doors 2Apr 28, 2012 1:32 pm If was going to have doors I would just use baskets all the way up. Re: Pantry drawers behind pantry doors 3Apr 28, 2012 2:19 pm I have mine with 3 pantry drawers at the bottom and then doors at the top. The benchtop runs through the middle. http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff245/rebel_radar/DSCN1063.jpg I have the spreads, tea, coffee, spices in the first drawer. The second drawer has my baking and cooking items, one plastic tub with baking items, bicarb soda, patty papers, food colouring etc and the other one has pasta, casserole sachets, soup mix etc. The bottom drawer has biscuits, kids snacks etc in it. The drawers work really well for me. Good luck with your decision. Re: Pantry drawers behind pantry doors 4Apr 28, 2012 4:38 pm I personally dont like the look of drawers below pantry doors. I have but 4 Blum Intevio drawers with glass inserts behind our pantry doors and love them. You can pull out the drawers and see everything without having to dig or lose things in the back. Should I add that it means less bending for us also. We only have a single door pantry though. Is this what you had in mind? I have a small kitchen and need all the room I can get.. Thanks for your commentsnd pictures. All manufatcturers make a similar product. Just ask your cabinet maker and they should have one in the brand they use.
