Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Apr 24, 2012 11:10 pm I cant decide between satin or texture vinyl wrap. We are going to put a new white kitchen in but think that gloss is too shinny and plastic looking for our house which is 25 years old. I think that gloss would reflect too much. Maybe it is just for modern homes. Which would be easier to clean and look great, satin or texture or some other suggestion. We are having ice snow C/S benchtop. Is it worth keeping the doors plain or have a profile. Look forward to your response. Thank you. Re: Which vinyl wrap is better satin or texture or ? 2Apr 25, 2012 7:26 am Hi, I wouldn't go anywhere near a texture for a kitchen. They would be extremely hard to keep clean. I think the satin with a profile would look lovely in your kitchen. How exciting to be getting a new kitchen. Two cabinets makers said that satin was hard to clean. One said he wouldn't get it again and the other said he agreed as the powder in it (or similar) makes it harder to clean. Do you know the brank name of the best satin white finish that is actually satin. A few of them look like a matt finish. Also, if I find a real satin shine finish, would the cabinet maker use that brand or does he stick to his own supplier. Would a profile look outdated or too busy? Or what type of profile, I have no idea. Or the plain door look too plain or is that the modern look. But do I need modern if the house is 25 years old! Would you say gloss is definitely out. As you can see I have no idea. I need help. Re: Which vinyl wrap is better satin or texture or ? 5Apr 25, 2012 11:49 am Do you have to use vinyl wrap as so many of the "experts" warn against it. I also have CS ice snow and for the cupboards/drawers I used Polytec Classic White Sheen flat profile and have no regrets, not too shiny and easy to keep clean. The Polytec for the kitchen cost an extra $865 which included large doors x 3, small doors x 5, drawers x 19 and framework for ovens. Regards, Grumbles brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7566 Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed.
