Is it going to get in your way when prepping and washing veggies etc...? My bin is to the side and attached to the bottom of the cabinet. http://www.thestorageshop.net.au/viewit ... oductid=28 +1 it makes far more sense to have the bin directly under the benchtop where you do the cutting and peeling, it is very convenient, less spilling and no bending down. My prefered width for the drawer would be 400mm, I don't like to have too large bins. Very true - When gelatiii mentioned/refocussed on this I realised that all the above ideas and concepts really helped me realise that I'm forcing a good idea into a poor/bad solution. So, we've just ended up going the post contract variation route to make an amendment to our island bench to allow for a more practical solution. We've managed to create a perfectly suited cavity (behind everything shown in the plan above) that is accessed on the side with a push/open mechanism and with the bins mounted at the top space (right beneath the bench top) so that wiping directly from the table into the bin is easy. Here's a top view of the same bench with the updated change: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ (Click on image for larger version) I'll post up a photo of the final implementation when done Re: Hideaway bins & Insinkerator under fullsize or 3/4 bowl 24May 25, 2012 9:12 am I have swapped the tea towel cupboard for a plain cupboard, will just have to use the oven handle Great that you have come up with a solution, Jaans https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Hideaway bins & Insinkerator under fullsize or 3/4 bowl 25May 25, 2012 11:41 am I like having the bins right under sink, perfect for the scrapping the food scraps before plates go into the sink or dishwasher. We also have no drawerhandles so my designer has extended the bottom of the face of the drawer to create a lip that I can put my toe up to catch on the bottom and pull the drawer out. Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16105 I want to build a bigger driveway (without a nature strip) than has been approved under my CDC.
