Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Mar 16, 2012 10:27 am I was talking to the sales lady I am dealing with at Gemmill Homes - she said the standard in their homes is Granite and if you want caesterstone you have to upgrade and pay the difference. She pronounced Granite as "gran-ite" not "gran-it" IYKWIM. SHe showed me samples of the granite and I am assuming its not real granite. Does anybody know what this stuff is or how it compares to caeserstone? They both look and feel exactly the same. I don't think her pronunciation has anything to do with it. You can buy granites that are less than $150 per square metre so Caesar stone would end up more expensive. Do you research before saying anything.. It should be all in your contracts what stone they are using. You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want.
