Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Mar 08, 2012 9:05 pm Hi all, I've just had my Siemens 900mm, 5 burner gas cooktop installed and I'm having a slight issue with it. The burners are making a 'burr' noise when lit, and this is particularly prominent on the wok burner - it sounds like a plane taking off (ok, that's a slight exaggeration ). I think perhaps the regulator is set too high, so there is too much gas pressure reaching the burners. Does this sound right? And am I able to adjust the regulator, or must I call in a plumber ? Thanks! Re: Problem with gas cooktop (calling all plumbers) 2Mar 09, 2012 8:24 am Mr Zebra, If you sense something is wrong, it probably is. You see with gas, there are no maybe's, to give you an example, my gas wall oven was making a funny noise when starting up, then there was a really bad burning smell, I got scared & turned it off as I couldn't see any flames or smoke. Called in the oven guy who said it's best to pull it out of the cavity, & thank god he did that, the side of the cavity was all black & burned, he said a few more minutes of burning & the whole kitchen would have blown up with me with it as I was preparing food & only a few feet away from it. So, the moral of the story is if you sense it's not right, DO something about it & call a professional in, the most you'll loose is a call out fee & not your house or worse still your life! My daughter and son in law are about to start building, they are having a 600mm induction cook top and 900mm oven. It's personal preferance 5 2605 2 3747 I don’t think so as the floor area over 300 square meters then it is class 3…. 12 15882 |
