Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Mar 03, 2012 10:35 pm Hi We have recently moved into our new house and found that the oven timer doesn't make any sound. It counts down and on completion the oven (heat/light and fan) flick off. But no sound. I expect there should be a 'ding' or a beep when the timer finishes to alert you. Does anyone else have the Westinghouse 900mm built in oven - model number POH967S/1 If so - can you please tell me if the timer makes a sound? I called westinghouse and they advised that the oven doesn't have that 'feature' which I don't believe - surely every oven makes a sound to let you know your food is finished. Eg if cooking a cake and your at the other end of the house, surely you would usually hear the oven timer finish...? Thanks Re: question about westinghouse oven 2Mar 03, 2012 10:45 pm Hi, I have a Westinghouse oven and it does the same thing. Stupid as... but otherwise it is a good oven. I just use a little kitchen timer. It annoyed me too much to find that it had turned itself off. I like to choose whether or not my cake or whatever needs another 5 mins. Our last oven had a little switch so you could choose between a noise or switch off for the timer, which was a much better system I think. Re: question about westinghouse oven 3Mar 05, 2012 2:09 pm Gday. We have a westinghouse oven, not the same as yours though. We can choose what type of timer we can put on. One that beeps, one that turns the oven off and some other count down one. I only use the beeping one. Do you have a manual for your oven at all, I suppose if you did you woud look it up... hmmm. Good luck trying to find your answer. Sandra Hi Chippy, no there isn't, gave it a really good look through and literally opened everything and checked all edges as well. Hence the question, just hoping someone would… 2 2083 My daughter and son in law are about to start building, they are having a 600mm induction cook top and 900mm oven.
